Fragmented orchids
This work was the first orchid painting I ever painted. It was a gift for my grandmother who had a passion for orchids. People stopped in front of her house to see her collection.
Each year I got an orchid from her as birthdaypresent. Since then I have my own collection of orchids, mostly Phalaenopsis, but also a Mariposa and Paphiopedilum. They inspire me to paint small intimate paintings in oil. These paintings are made on demand and are in the possession of special persons.

Peony painting
Peonies have a very nice fragrance, but are fragile flowers.
They never lasted long in my parents garden due to the rain.
While taking a walk in the village of Kwaremont, we found a bush with blooming peonies. My mother was so enthusiastic. As a surprise I painted this painting.

Mariposa
By combining different phaleonopsis orchids like a puzzle, I wanted to create a shape of a butterfly. 'Mariposa' is spanish for butterfly.
I painted this oil on canvas for Jeanette, who loved every flower and plant.
